A real estate
salesperson in Washington is licensed to represent others in
the purchase, sale, lease or management of residential
and/or commercial real property and businesses. A
salesperson performs these functions under the supervision
of a real estate broker. To qualify for the initial real
estate license, the Washington Department of Licensing
requires a 60-hour course called Washington Real Estate
Fundamentals. This course covers real estate property
basics, Federal and State laws, finance, appraisal and
mortgage considerations, and contracts associated with real
estate transactions, such as listing agreements, and
